ABOUT



Born, raised, and based in Toronto, ON, Evan Weissberger (He/Him) is a passionate patron of the arts. He has earned a BA in Media Production from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he graduated with distinction. Evan's interests primarily lie in film & television production, as well as experiential media. His skills cover a wide range of the production process. From directing & co-producing his immersive thesis project, to co-writing & co-hosting an award winning radio show, to camera operating, lighting, graphic design, and more, Evan has plenty of experience in a variety of disciplines. He is eager to offer these skills, and always happy to collaborate with talented visionaries on their creative endeavours.
When he's not hard at work, Evan likes to go for a bike ride, dabble in cooking, listen to & collect music, go for a hike, and go camping.
SKILLS
DIRECTION
Evan is a director with a variety of experience under his belt. Most notably, Evan directed his thesis project, an immersive experience called The Mouse Trap which blended live-action actors, pre-recorded video playback, and interactive elements. Evan has also directed many exercises for various courses, and a few comedy sketches.
INTERACTIVE DESIGN
Between designing an escape room and a unique immersive experience, Evan has found passion in the immersive & interactive landscape. He served as a writer, director, and puzzle designer on a romance-themed escape room, as well as co-producer & director on The Mouse Trap, his thesis: an immersive story which places the audience in the perspective of mice at a party. Evan is passionate about interactivity in media, and always looking for new ways to explore this field.
WRITING
Evan enjoys writing, particularly in the comedic sense. He wrote the story and script for his thesis project, as well as multiple produced and unproduced comedy sketches. He has written spec scripts for shows such as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Gravity Falls. He also served as a co-writer for 7 seasons of his award-winning radio show, For Ex-Sample.
CAMERA
Evan can operate cameras in a single camera and multi camera setting. He has experience with single camera operation through a variety of intensive and advanced camera courses, putting these skills to use by filming comedy sketches and various assignments. Evan also served as camera operator for 7 seasons of his radio show, For Ex-Sample, remotely adjusting camera angles and operating a live switcher board.
GrIP & ELECTRIC
Evan has served in both the grip and electric departments on various occasions. He has helped light the set of comedy sketches, music videos, and advanced single-camera assignments. He has practiced lighting recreation, carefully analyzing feature films to accurately recreate the lighting seen on screen.
HOSTING
Evan has served as a radio host for seven seasons lasting nearly four years. Co-hosting his award-winning show, For Ex-Sample, is a highlight of his media career. Evan has developed a uniquely comedic, confident and charismatic tone perfect for hosting radio, or anywhere else that calls for it. He also works professionally as a DJ and MC, further honing his edge as a host.
ACTING
Evan trained in theatrical acting for many years. He starred in several one-act play festivals in high school, and played the role of Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde. More recently, Evan has turned his acting focus to screen acting. Evan starred as Dale the Clown in Pantomime, a short produced for TIFF Next Wave's Battle of the Scores event in 2023. Evan danced, sang and acted as an ensemble member in Back to the Closet, a musical short film which screened at TIFF Next Wave and several other international festivals in 2025. Evan has also starred in multiple sketch comedy episodes of Yikes!, a sketch comedy series which he also helped direct, write, and produce.
Social MEdia
Evan took the role of social media manager for the aforementioned radio show, sketch comedy series, and assisted as social media manager for his thesis project. Evan has experience managing upload schedules, engaging with audiences, and regularly posting on multiple platforms to keep brand awareness consistent.
Graphic Design
Evan was also in charge of handling the graphic design for his radio show & sketch comedy series. Evan designed a unique cover for every episode, as well as determined new colour palletes and branding for every season of For Ex-Sample. Evan designed the logo for Yikes!, as well as deciding on the colour pallete & designing multiple posts. Evan has taken courses on graphic design and is proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. Evan also designed this website himself - with assistance from Wix, of course.

Evan also has experience as an Assistant Director on an interview series, Script Supervisor on Sweetwater, a short film which premiered at Gimli International Film Festival in 2025, and a Production Assistant on a variety of other projects. He has also edited a few comedy sketches and various other videos, mostly for school or for fun. He is always willing to try something new, and is very open to learning!
